More about my campaign:
I live in the Ericsson neighborhood of Ward 12 with my wife Deirdre. We utilize the neighborhood’s many great qualities such as the businesses, trails, waterways and rails. We intend to raise a family in the neighborhood and also take advantage of the public school system in which I was educated. I am motivated to run for City Council to ensure that we continue the progress our Ward is already enjoying in many areas, but that we do it within the means of a reasonable budget. I believe the role of City government is to provide essential services but that those services do not include utilities such as gas and electricity. I am against any effort to establish a City-run utility in that regard and would oppose this as a Councilmember.
I own and operate a small business out of my home that provides consulting services to the Minnesota restaurant industry. A number of my clients are in Ward 12. I am also an attorney and have a practice here in the Twin Cities. I intend to use my experience resolving tough disputes as an attorney in my work as a city councilmember, if elected. I have a law degree and an undergraduate degree in environmental studies.
Although I see the position of a council member as non-partisan, I am running as a moderate DFL candidate and believe I am the best candidate to resolve partisan issues by establishing relationships, advocate for job growth, and promote local environmental quality by working with the Park Board and fostering advances in our public schools by working with the School Board. I intend to listen closely to what the Ward wants and needs and to deliver results to the very best of my ability.
This job is not about my agenda, it is about what is best for the Ward and its residents. Please support me in November!

In my spare time, I like to run, bike, fish, camp, work in the garage on cars and other projects, and spend time with my wife, friends, and family. I really like spending time on the water-winter and summer!
